June 17, 2008
As part of the growth and relaunch of Hamilton, Ontario's Community Child Abuse Council, Brian Melo was be named the Honourary Campaign Chair at a private event on June 24th.
"This is something that's very important to me," says Brian. "I'm from a very loving family, and I realize I've been very fortunate. I want to help make a difference for kids who haven't had it so good. I'm looking forward to making a contribution here in Hamilton. If I can inspire one kid to dream, to achieve, to know they are not alone...what more could I ask?"
The Council provides comprehensive assessment and treatment services for child and youth victims of sexual abuse and for their non-offending parents/caregivers, trauma services for children and youth from immigrant and refugee families, and a range of prevention and education programs that focus on keeping kids safe.
